Update on Sting’s Status with TNA, Backstage Hogan/Bischoff News

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

– It’s said that Sting’s name isn’t mentioned too often these days by TNA officials. It will be interesting to see if he’s at the March 8th live iMPACT, a show that’s being considered an “all hands on deck” type of show. That could indicate that Hogan and Bischoff have given up on Sting for the time being after he missed last month’s pay-per-view and iMPACT tapings.

– It was said that things backstage were different at the most recent iMPACT tapings than before. Word is that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff seemed more comfortable and more humble. Some believe the change in attitude may have something to do with Dixie Carter as she’s insistent on keeping a positive workplace.

i think sting will come back to feud with rick and aj

  • J-Roc

Sting should have retired years ago.

What?? you don’t like the “Hall Shuffle”??

  • ricknokla

Get rid of Scott Hall, he’s so messed up he can barely walk, let alone be a part of any story line

  • Daniel Interlandi

I’d have to find the interview to confirm but I think Sting wanted nothing to do with WWE due to the attitude era and him not agreeing with the product.

Now that there is a PG rating involved he might change his mind.

I think he is still friends with HBK and Ted DiBiase Sr. So never say never

i’d love to see sting go WWE but i just dont know if it will happen. And i dont know why that everyone is critizing WWE’s kid friendly product cause you may not like it but when you look at the audience over half of it is kids plus alot of people (including myself) love wrestling but does not like to hear the language (Cause i’m a christian) so its a smart buisness decision cause they have to for the majority.

You know its a bad moment for wrestling when both “big name” companies are starting to go down the crapper, I’ll admit im new to TNA but i cant watch WWE’s garbage kid show anymore. However since Hogan came in he & Bischoff are nothing but pr*cks & their egos will screw over the company big time.

I think the best way to end his great carrer would be if Sting goes to WWE, and 1-2 years later he ends his carrer (maybe at WrestleMania with a final match against The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Edge or somethin else who is a big deal)

  • kelly

Sting has stayed away from WWE for a reason you guys know thats why he’s never once appeared on there shows.

  • Phil

Sting should finish up in WWE.

  • Venom

I’m sorry, I forgot to post something. Sting’s TNA status is farting around backstage, doing nothing.

  • Venom

Attention everybody! Sting does not like Vince McMahon. McMahon put an end to WCW and put Sting out of a job. Sting refused to wrestle in WWE because he really hates McMahon. Its a shame though. It would have been nice to see Sting vs Taker at mania, but in reality, it will never happen. So everybody talking about Sting retiring from TNA and going to WWE is just a dream.

Best the best match ever might be Orlando Jordon and The Hulkster in A bra and panties match!!!!

  • rko

Sting like hbk can still put up good matches.

  • James Robert (a.k.a. Jim Bob)

I think, deep down, Sting would have liked to have one good run in WWE. I mean, no matter what any wrestler may say, they all want to be in WWE. It’s the best of the best. Sure, they may be all PG now, but they’re still the number 1 wrestling promotion in the world and will be for some time. Sadly, though, Sting’s prime is way behind him and he just doesn’t have any more runs in him. To come into current day WWE, it’d have to be for a quick program that most likely ended with his retirement. The only opponent I could see that being with would be Flair and he’s currently in TNA. So, it’s all a pipe dream at best. The only time we’ll see him in WWE is maybe 5-10 years down the road when he’s inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame (and yes, he will be. Vince would love to profit off Sting’s character, especially since he owns the bulk of his career).

I dont think Sting has any desire to go to the WWE its not there choice in this one!! Sting never needed the WWE and never will!!!!

  • Wrestling Guru #1

If he wouldn’t be buried and fed to Triple Ego and like Hornswoggle, I wouldn’t mind seeing Sting in the WWE!! A series of matches with him against HBK and Undertaker is one of the last dream set-ups left to mine out of wrestling today!! However that being said, Vince would have him lose to Triple H and Hornswoggle, and maybe join the Kiss My Ass Club. No thanks Stay In TNA Sting!!!

  • Scooter

jus release him and let him go to wwe he say he want a family friendly show wwe is and tna is not sting vs hbk or sting vs taker next year wrestlemania. then hall o fame baby!

  • JD

At this point I’d rather just see Sting retire. With Hulk in charge now, chances are the only storyline he’d have is with either Hogan or Flair, and I think Sting’s above that. He’s one of those legends that can still go toe-to-toe with the younger talent (unlike Flair and Hogan), so to be put in a program with Hogan or Flair would just be a step backward.

For the sake of entertainment and healthy competition in the business, I wish TNA offered a better product, but todays’ impact was really, really boring. I rather watched family guy at the half of the show. The booking is awful, the storylines are dull, and some of their wrestlers lack personality. Hope they improve for the monday night wars.

  • Taylor

only reason y i started watching TNA was cuz sting was on it. he may be old but he can still wrestle good. i hope he comes back.

  • James

why give up on sting? sting will come back when he needs to not to mention its about younger talent not sting anymore!
