WWE sources indicate that Luis Ignascio Urive Alvirde, the original Sin Cara, was sent home from Tuesday’s SmackDown taping in Calgary, Alberta, Canada after meeting with company officials. He left the Scotiabank Saddledome before the event’s conclusion.

Company sources say developmental talent Jorge Arias (a/k/a Hunico) will exclusively portray the Sin Cara character going forward. WWE wants to maintain the character since its been very popular among kids and in merchandise sales.

Many employees expect Alvirde to part ways with the organization, but that is not 100% confirmed.

WWE re-shot a match between Sin Cara and Heath Slater at Tuesday’s taping since the initial bout featured numerous botched maneuvers. Aries portrayed Cara in both matches. Alvirde was dressed to compete, but management opted not to use him.

    Those who are upset about WWE replacing the old Sin Cara with the new Sin Cara haven’t been paying attention.

    The Mexican promoter who had Sin Cara retained the rights to the name in Mexico. It doesn’t belong to the guy under the mask, any more than Rey Mysterio belongs to Oscar Gutierrez. The current Mysterio isn’t the first and isn’t going to be the last. These masked wrestlers identities get passed down over the years.

    And if this Sin Cara can’t handle it, it is time to find someone who can.

    This is what WWE get’s for rushing him into the Main Roster and not wait about a year in development

    Mystico’s style didn’t work under gay ass WWE “style” of wrestling. That’s why half of his moves were all fucked. This new guy is already botching trying to adapt from the mexican style to the WWE style. Character will die out in another year.

    I didn’t like the wrestling style of the 1st Sin Cara. But the new Sin Cara wrestled a match against Slater tonight, and I liked the match.

    I might become a fan of the new Sin Cara, if they keep this one as the Cara.

  • Sam

    i dont like the idea of making the new one replace the old as sin cara was a role made for a particular person then they pretend the original is a piece of rubbish and i just see the new one as a fake tbh

  • Jon

    It look like the new Sin Cara was on tonight..

  • Big Hawk

    I would atleast give the original a new character and send him to FCW to practice and THEN turn hunico heel, causing the original to come back

    @Wellsy,
    Cuz kids love Sin Cara character

  • Wellsy

    Awful move if they replace the original already. just awful.

    It’s a fake Sin Cara. Just like fake Diesel and fake Razor. Why couldn’t this new guy be a different masked wrestler?

  • JD

    If youre going to use all CAPS to make sure we all see what youre writing.. can you AT LEAST make sure to use proper grammar and spelling?

    thanks…

  • Seriously

    How the fuck can they strip the guy of his own character and give it to someone else? How the fuck is that shit possible? thats like Rey Mysterio being removed and replaced with someone else. Those identities belong to them, not some wanna be bitch. WTF, hunico and the rest of the fucktards need to get off his character and make their own lucha shit. WWE is just….OMG.

  • jeff

    this is like lying tho to the kids…having someone else act..its almost like having bunch of Santa Claues. Or like having somebody else as Rey M

    listen the original SIN CARA IS FREAKIN AWSOWME A SAW HIM PLENTY OFF TIMES IN JAPAN AND MEXICO AND IS ONE OF A KIND, I THINK THE PROBLEM IS THAT 1. HE WASN T SET TO FCW LIKE DEL RIO OR HUNICO, DEL RIO HAD SOME PROBLEMS AT FIRST AND LOOK AT HIM HUNCIO HAS BEEN IN FCW LIKE TWO YEARS. 2. ALL THE FOCUS AND ATENCION TO SIN CARA BECAUSE WAS REALLY EXSPENSIVE TO BUY HIS RELEASE FROM CMLL THAT THE COMPANY HE USED TO WORK IN MEXICO WAS A LOT OF MONEY AND 3. WWE NEEDS BAD A STAR WITH A MASK FOR MERCH AND TO SALE TICKTES IN MEXICO BECAUSE WWE IS HUGE THERE. SOW THE ONLY GUY HOW ARE RESPONSABLE FOR WHATS GOING ON WITH SIN CARA IS MANAGMENT AND THE STRESS WITH GUY IS TO DELIVERD. HUNICO IS GOOD BUT NOT LIKE SIN CARA AND HUNICO IS AN AMERICAN LIKE REY,NOT MEXICAN.THOSE GUY ARE MORE AMREICAN than applepie.

  • DuffManLovesHimSomeWrestling

    I’m gad if this report is true. Hunico did way better, he had more than different variations of head scissors and didn’t botch. He may be slower but he knows what he is doing.

  • Bam

    If hunico botched the moves than he should be punished.
    Keep the original!

  • venom

    @Seth

    I think they got the two mixed up when they said that. They should just fire the original guy. The new Sin Cara wrestles better and is in better shape.

  • Seth

    Who was in the Slater match? Seems odd to send Alvirde home if he wasn’t the one working the matches with Slater.
