WWE issued the following statement regarding last night’s incident on Raw where CM Punk struck a fan in the audience.

“WWE security was unfortunately not in the appropriate place at the time. Given CM Punk’s persona as a ‘bad guy’ fans were naturally heckling him, but unfortunately a few fans began shoving him and one struck him in the kidney and on the back.

WWE regrets that proper security measures were not in place, and CM Punk apologizes for reacting in the heat of the moment.”

As noted earlier, Laura Cole of CBS Sacramento said that the fan released a statement to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and complained of knee pain. It is unknown whether the fan will file charges over the incident.

Good. This oughta settle all this bullshit talk on other message boards about a suspension. I watched that crazy fuck Scott Steiner swing @ plenty of fans which resulted in the fans getting kicked from arenas. Anybody hits me from behind and doesnt finish me off would get kicked in the ballsack. CM Punk was right to defend himself. Swung @ the wrong fan? dont crowd the man. pay your money and take your chances. Dont cry because he hit your camera and sunglasses. Pussy.

I just don’t get some of you motherfuckers. No, you don’t hit a wrestler, period. Only a fucking moron these days would legitimately be “MAD” about what a Heel wrestler says. Such as the stupid bitch who spit at Jericho.

And “Ricardo”, just because you obviously don’t like CM Punk the character, don’t profess to know who Phil Brooks the man is. None of us do, and rightly so. He’s a WRESTLER, portraying a CHARACTER. Nothing more. We don’t know the real him, nor do we need or deserve to know. So maybe you should shut the fuck up, and realize that you’re the one being a “moralist prick”, and a mark besides.

    Good day.

So you’re a heel, you spend weeks antagonizing the crowd, and then you run and stand right in the middle of the same crowd you just insulted? Punk thinks live audiences are like IWC audiences. The IWC is Punk’s bitch, no matter what he does or says you all love him. Real people in the real world are very different, and they will react to insult. If Punk cannot understand that, he’s totally out of touch with the wrestling business.

And about Punk’s marks being his bitches, what’s unbelievable is the depths you go to. Punk attacks a fan – it’s a fact, registered on camera. But because it’s Punk, it’s alright. I’m yet to read a single comment that doesn’t have a certain sense of excitement as if he did an awesome thing. Had it been Cena or Orton, and everyone would be complaining and talking about “anger issues”. Get over your man-passion for Phil, he clearly doesn’t deserve it. That moralist prick is living proof that you don’t need alcohol to be a violent douche.

The fact that Punk hit the the wrong guy whom did NOT hit him complicates things. Similar to how Ron Artest beat the crap out of some fan in the stands when it was sometime else whom threw the cup at him.

Also, fans are not supposed to jump the railing under any circumstances. Whatever happens to them afterwards they deserve. The likewise, if a wrestler jumps the barrier anything that happens to him or her is fair game. Punk didn’t do anything to warrant an attack, but you have to be smart enough to assume that when you take a WWE superstar and put him within arms reach of a sea of fans someone is gonna take a cheap shot. It’s only common sense.

Nothing should come out of this. Just make better decisions in the future. If you are gonna run in the crowd, either take what’s given to you or do watch you gotta do and get out of there.

    Because people are stupid

  • Bill

Honestly, I’m glad they handled this as quickly & professionally as they did, rather than make it a big deal. Plus, no one was seriously hurt, so at least it’s fine in that sense.

  • Dan

Why does no one seem to understand that he probably hurt his knee from falling after Punk pushed him down?

  • Joshy

Sorry to reiterate… Too bad punk hit the wrong fan

  • Joshy

The fan deserved it! If u got hit in the kidneys ud wanna pop someone in the face
to hurt their knees (lmao). Too bad punk cant prove it

  • CM Mark

Way to go WWE. Stand behind your champion, I didn’t expect that at all. I expected some shameful it’s all Punk’s fault thing. I doubt Punk apologized for real though. It doesn’t seem like something he would do.

  • SYM

Yes CM Punk hit him in the face and his Knee began hurting…..some dumb shit
