- WWE has released Chris Spradlin from his developmental deal this past week. He was known as Kassius Ohno on NXT and Chris Hero before joining WWE.

He’s already been announced to face Hurricane Helms on November 16th for Pro Wrestling Syndicate in Rahway, NJ.

Ohno was released by WWE officials while waiting to begin training on Friday morning at the Performance Center in Orlando. Ohno recently returned to NXT after being held off TV for some time. His final match, a loss to Luke Harper, just aired a few nights ago on this week’s episode of NXT TV.

I can see a chris cassius debut in TNA…it can’t be worse than rampage jackson, tito ortiz, and pacman jones combined….hell a series with samoa joe and austin aries would be better than what was offered in the E over the last couple of months

  • Scooter

I agree it would be nice but you can’t blame them for wanting to get rid of a guy who can’t even commit to staying in shape.

Fact is look at Bryan, look at the shape he got into after getting signed.

  • LoganSR71

Was really hoping for a KoW reunion. Shame a very talented wrestler got lazy.

  • Scooter

The difference is Chris got in great shape then got lazy.

I really can’t blame the E for being pissed off if that’s his work ethic.

The thing is, Husky Harris/Bray Wyatt isn’t exactly “in shape” neither is punk (he’s not fat, he’s just doesn’t have the “built physique” look) so it doesn’t necessarily mean they can’t go

  • Smash

He would’ve been a great addition in the Wyatt family vs punk/Daniel feud

  • Solid

Makes me hope the sale rumours are true, the Carters need to go and new owners would most likely clean house in the creative department (and dead weight talent, im looking at you MMA guys / Pac Man Jones / Hogan if he were still around etc..) and hopefully that would provide a clean slate required to stop them from going down.

  • Solid

Considering WWE is the end goal for most of these people to do something like this he mustn’t have been happy and wanted out of his deal perhaps? Just rubbed WWE the wrong way on purpose until they let him go…

  • DanielsonFan

He did get in shape though.

  • CC

Well he was asked to get in better shape, and he didnt comply … it was inevitable, but still a shame.

  • Rob ‘Richard Hammond’ Picken

Well there goes my hopes for a KOW reunion or solo run, seriously WWE you’re employees don’t know sh**

Well, so much for Chris Hero. He certainly could have “worked out”, if Vince and HHH understood jack shit about what “good wrestlers” are these days.

  • Will Henderson

i saw this coming, truth be told, Chris Hero in the WWE was never gonna work out, now he can return to ROH or maybe go to TNA if it still in business. TNA needs more up and comers and to rebuild the company. he could be a key asset for TNA’s future if TNA survives to make it past 2014.
