- On Saturday, former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Justin Credible appeared steamed with Matt Striker following their match for the New York Wrestling Connection in Deer Park, New York.

The two former WWE Superstars engaged in a scientific match featuring a storyline where if Credible cleanly defeated Striker (who portrayed the heel), they would tangle in a hardcore match next month. Following Striker’s loss, the former WWE announcer struck Credible, causing him to bleed. Following the bout, Striker attempted to apologize backstage, but Credible fired back profanities and stormed away.

– Steve Cox, who competed for multiple promotions during the 1980s and early 1990s including the Universal Wrestling Federation, World Class Championship Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance, discussed his career in an interview with www.notinhalloffame.com.

In response to whether he watches wrestling today, Cox said, “I do, when I can. Now CM Punk and John Cena, you’ve got to me kidding me. Is this the best you got? Don’t get me wrong, but if this is the best you got, but these guys ain’t Brody. These guys would get destroyed in my day. When you watch the work today, it’s so light. It’s too make believe; too much entertainment. In my day, you believed you were getting your ass kicked, because you actually were.”

– WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper is scheduled to appear at the Mad Monster Party convention taking place March 21-23 at Hilton Charlotte University Place (located 8629 J M Keynes Dr, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262).

I agree, you cannot say that guys today are not tough, and that includes Cena and Punk. They spend pretty much the whole year on the road, travelling all over the world, and the spots they do put them at risk. This old guy (who most people have probably never heard of) is talking out of his arse. As one guy said above, if you are literally going out to actually hurt your opponent, then you are not wrestling.

  • MrDr3w

Cena gets hurt almost as much as HHH did back in his day, and he was clearly on steroids, JUST SAYING…

  • Kristopher Robinson

Cena has been hurt like 3 times in 11 years… WTF are you talking about?!

  • JohnCena33

Yes, it does look somewhat more fake.

  • JohnCena33

Every single wrestler has missed significant time due to injury, Cena has missed about 8 months a couple years ago and now only about 2 months, but I guess that counts as “every five minutes”

  • Josh

If Cena was so tough, he wouldn’t be getting injured every five minutes.

I hate it when bitter old timers use that same tired old line “back in my day…..blah blah blah”. A good worker DOESN’T hurt the other worker. If you want to brag about “beating people up”, be a MMA fighter. Coxs’ statement makes as much sense as if Bruce Willis was bragging about being a bad ass because he played one in his movies. Quit being a mark for yourself.

  • Kristopher Robinson

Agreed, but I do have to agree with this guy and say it looks more fake now than it ever has IMO.

  • JohnCena33

The one thing you don’t question about Cena and Punk is there toughness, both guys bounce back from injuries like no other, especially Cena, so this guy I never heard of should keep his mouth shut.
