Here are the results for SmackDown Live’s 8/2/16 episode:
SmackDown opens up with Daniel Bryan, Shane McMahon, and Randy Orton watching the replay from last night’s RKO on Brock Lesnar. Shane told Randy that he put everything at risk last night when he attacked Lesnar, but it was pretty cool. Shane issued security to walk around with Orton and security at every entrance of the arena as well.
Dean Ambrose hits the ring and calls out Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler comes out and the two men exchange words. After Ambrose leaves the ring the lights go out and Bray Wyatt is in the ring and hits Ziggler with the Sister Abigail. Wyatt says that if Ziggler can’t make it to SummerSlam that he will take his place, because Ziggler does not deserve to be No. 1-contender.
– Apollo Crews def. Baron Corbin and Calisto. Will face The Miz for Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam
– A match between Eva Marie and Becky Lynch was set to get underway but Marie apparently had a leg injury and was escorted out from the ring
– American Alpha def. The Vaudevillians
– John Cena and AJ Styles cut some AMAZING promos on each other. It ends with a rematch between AJ Styles and John Cena being announced for SummerSlam
– Randy Orton vs Fandango ends in a DQ after Brock Lesnar hits the ring and gives Orton an F5
– Daniel Bryan announces Heath Slater will face Rhyno for a SmackDown Live contract
– Carmela makes her way to the ring but is attacked from behind by Natalya
– Dolph Ziggler def. Bray Wyatt to defend his No. 1-contendership for the WWE Title at SummerSlam
Erick Rowan hits the ring to attack Ziggler and Ambrose, who sat ringside for the match, and the show goes off air Bray telling everyone to follow the buzzards
