The Almighty Bobby Lashley is currently embroiled in one of the biggest programs on RAW featuring himself, Lana and Rusev. While the former US Champion is busy with Lana and Rusev on RAW, he recently spoke to Sports Illustrated and talked about a variety of topics including his former manager Lio Rush and why they split.
“I thought Lio was amazing. Part of the reason why me and Lio were taken apart was because it was working out too well.
“We weren’t bad guys. People liked what we were doing, and we started having a lot of fun with it. I don’t know why it was pulled, it was pulled for whatever reason.”
Lio Rush, who is currently an NXT star, served as Lashley’s mouth-piece before the pairing was ended in March 2019 after Lashley attacked Rush on an episode of RAW. Rush was sent back to the cruiserweight division after the split and even managed to capture the Cruiserweight Championship before losing it to Angel Garza on NXT.
