WWE Hall of Famer congratulates Jon Moxley for leaving WWE to join AEW

At AEW Double or Nothing, Jon Moxley retained the AEW World Championship against Brodie Lee.

 


 

In the aftermath of the show, Sgt. Slaughter congratulated Moxley for leaving WWE and wished him continued success.

The WWE Hall of Famer didn’t hold back, stating that he was the first to go up against “The Emperor” and fight for his freedom in the company.

Back in the day, Slaughter left WWE on several occasions to work for other promotions such as AWA and Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. He is currently also signed to WWE as part of the ambassador program.

As for Jon Moxley, the reigning AEW World Champion left WWE last year. ‘The Death Rider’ currently also works for NJPW and is the current IWGP United States Champion.

For his next AEW World Title defense, Moxley will face Brian Cage at Fyter Fest.
