Brock Lesnar isn’t known to be the easiest person to get along with inside or outside of the squared circle that is pro-wrestling. Brock wasn’t known for being the nicest guy in MMA either. When Brock does have respect for someone, however, he shows it in a big way. Stone Cold may be one of the first to experience such a display from Brock. WWE ‘Canceled’ Brock Lesnar WWE Dream Match.
WWE have an upcoming Stone Cold Steve Austin documentary which will be part of their legends documentary series. Many have recently given respect to the Texas Rattlesnake such as The Rock as well on 3/16/21 for “3:16 Day”. Speaking of respect, Kevin Owens also got respect from Stone Cold when Stone Cold gave him his blessing for using the stunner. Of course, ‘The Stone Cold Stunner’ was Stone Cold’s famous move which featured middle fingers, getting in his opponent face, and sometimes beer while doing so.
Owens said the following on the latest episode of WWE’s The Bump, in which WWE showed a sneak peek of the upcoming documentary: “I had this idea in my head to start doing the stunner for a finish because it’s the most iconic finisher of all time and nobody was doing it anymore. Why not the stunner? I was well aware of what it was, and it’s almost sacrilegious to do it, which is why I went to Steve and asked him if I could, and when I went to Steve, he and I already had a pretty good rapport, as soon as I opened my mouth, he knew where I was going.”
Owens continues: “He was like ‘Yes, go ahead and do it, it sounds great.’ . . . Moments like that just still blow me away, and having the guy I looked up the most give me his blessing to use his finishing move that he made famous beyond this industry ,which is pretty wild. Once in a while I still think about him and be like I can’t believe I get to do this.”
