Bayley made her huge return at recently concluded WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event. But she was not alone. She was accompanied by Io Shirai(now Iyo Sky) and Dakota Kai, seemingly forming a stable. As per the reports, Vince McMahon had turned down the idea of the stable. But, with Triple H being the new Head of Creative, he approved the idea.
Vince McMahon was not in favor of the idea
As it seems, Io Shirai has inked a new deal with WWE and Dakota Kai, who was released has now been brought back. According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, Vince McMahon had the idea of this new stable with Bayley leading Shirai and Kai before Dakota was released. However, he rejected the idea and then Kai was cut.
If it wasn’t obvious, this new stable is a product of the new WWE regime. We’ve heard that the stable was actually pitched quite a while ago — before Dakota’s release — and Vince McMahon rejected it. There were other versions pitched that included Raquel and Kay Lee Ray before they got called up and repackaged, respectively.
SummerSlam kicked off with the RAW Women’s Championship match as Bianca Belair successfully retained her title against Becky Lynch. After the bout, the latter shook hands with Belair and hugged her, seemingly turning babyface.
However, fans were thrilled for not one but three huge returns after this. First, former SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley made her long-awaited return to a massive pop from the fans in attendance in Nashville. Following her, Dakota Kai made a surprise return after being released earlier this year. Finally, former NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai made her main roster debut. We will see what is next for the stable.
