USADA further provided a somewhat vague statement addressing the matter that said “the UFC may grant an exemption” to the rule that compels athletes to remain active in the testing pool for six months before competing. T.J. Dillashaw’s manager Tiki Goshn recently told Ariel Helwani and others that the former champ had notified the UFC of his decision to retire. The retirement news comes after Dillashaw competed with a compromised shoulder and dropped a title shot against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 280. Given Dillashaw’s disreputable history of PED use, many believe it is another trick by the former champ to avoid testing for a while.
