Edge & Rhea Ripley Bombshell Revealed

As product evolves, changes abound, and it appears that Edge is not immune to such things. Edge, who has been part of WWE since the year of our Lord 1998 has undergone many marketing changes throughout going on three decades, and it would appear he is about to undergo more. That, or he’ll end up in AEW.

As per Ringside News, Edge has been involved in a long-standing feud with Finn Balor and The Judgment Day. Their rivalry resulted in an “I Quit Match” which Balor won. Following, Rhea Ripley attacked Beth Phoenix. This was the last time we saw the couple.

According to reports from Fightful Select, Edge was penciled in for the first of premium live WWE events of the year. The original plan was for Edge to take on Balor in a Hell In A Cell match at Royal Rumble. It was also noted that there were plans for Beth Phoenix to take part in the Elimination Chamber in February with Edge and Phoenix teaming up against Balor and Ripley.

Fightful Select learned that WWE had Edge penciled in for the first couple of events of the year. As Fightful Select had reported on a Q&A show upon his hiatus, the working plan was for Edge to take on Balor upon his return to pick up their long-running feud, with WrestlingNews.co reporting that they’d be competing at Royal Ruble. Edge’s limited dates was a factor in the rivalry being spread out. We can also confirm WrestlingNews.co’s report that as of that point (ahead of Survivor Series) it was scheduled to be a Hell in a Cell match at Elimination Chamber.
