Billi Bhatti recently reported the completely unproven alleged salary of several AEW talents including Paige VanZant. While one fan noted that Paige said she’s under a per-event contract, Bhatti clarified that it would have been almost doubled what she earned if she worked a mixed tag team match.
It was reported that she’s under a non-compete clause after what Snoop Dogg did. It has been noted that Paige will be off the list soon. Bhatti reported that the one-year image rights contract already expired in March and now it is just the 90 days-non compete clause.
Paige VanZant in AEW
Previous reports confirmed that Paige VanZant was under a deal with the AEW while making her first AEW appearance in September 2021. At the time, it was unclear for how many matches, AEW had her under contract but she was quickly placed in Dan Lambert’s American Top Team stable. Apart from getting into in-ring action, she mostly just stood in the background as a valet for the team.
The final appearance of Paige VanZant for AEW came in May 2022 and hence, it’s almost been a year since she was seen on TV. This generates a lot of questions about her AEW career, what happened to her, and whether she will make a comeback. While the answer isn’t quite clear, it appears that she’s done with the company.
Last year, AEW President Tony Khan said that he was open to having the mixed martial artist return to the company down the line.
“Paige VanZant [is] very talented and commands a big dollar figure, but I’m also very interested in that. Paige VanZant, I would like at some point to come back. I really like Paige VanZant — she’s awesome. And I love Dan Lambert,” Khan told the “Grapsody” podcast.
