Pelosi Reveals Top Republican ‘Afraid’ Of Trump

Nancy Pelosi, the former House Speaker, criticized her Republican successor, Kevin McCarthy, for considering the idea of expunging the two impeachments against former President Donald Trump. Pelosi expressed her belief that this move by McCarthy is driven by fear, suggesting that Trump still wields significant influence over the Republican party.

In an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Pelosi referred to Trump as the “puppeteer” and accused him of controlling the actions of Republican leaders like McCarthy. She characterized the push to expunge the impeachments as a political move and referred to those supporting it as looking “pathetic.”

According to Politico, Kevin McCarthy reportedly told Trump that he would seek to expunge the two impeachments against him before Congress breaks for its August recess. However, McCarthy later denied making such a vow, though he stated his support for the idea of expunging the impeachments.

Pelosi warned that attempting to erase Trump’s impeachments could have consequences for Republicans facing tough challenges in the 2024 elections. She also questioned the constitutionality of such an action, suggesting that it may not be legally viable.
