Foxx fondly recalls an amusing incident where he attempted to intimidate his daughter’s boyfriend with the help of his good friend, the legendary rapper Snoop Dogg. Foxx had already run a background check on the boyfriend and decided to have some fun with the situation. When the boyfriend visited their home and Snoop Dogg happened to be present, Foxx slyly directed him to “shake him up.” However, instead of an intimidating encounter, Snoop took a different approach, playfully reminding the boyfriend that they were like uncles to Foxx’s daughter and that he should treat her with respect. The lighthearted interaction left an impression and conveyed a clear message that Foxx’s daughter was loved and protected.
“I wanted to break down those barriers with your daughters because your daughter’s gonna need you. Especially when it comes to guys and relationships, I mean who else would know better than us? And so, by doing it early it pays dividends when they really have serious questions about guys I’m gonna kill.”

What happened was my daughter, who didn’t know that I had already run a background check on her boyfriend, comes to the crib, and Snoop happens to be there. I said, ‘Snoop there he is right there. Shake him up.’”
“Snoop walked over to my daughter’s boyfriend and just said, ‘Hey what’s up? What’s up cuz. Hey, look here you know. We her uncles, you know what I’m saying? So act accordingly homie.’”

While the specific illness was not disclosed, Foxx reassured his fans through an Instagram video on July 21 that he was doing better after going through a challenging time.
