Trump’s Congressman Getting Kicked Out After Investigation?

As Donald Trump’s buddy Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) faces a rebellion within House Republicans, reports suggest that some members of the caucus are seeking to remove him from office. CNN reported that an unnamed House Republican indicated that the caucus wants Gaetz gone and may use the findings from the ongoing Ethics Committee investigation into him as grounds for his expulsion.

The ongoing Ethics Committee investigation is reportedly examining allegations of sexual misconduct, illicit drug use, or other misconduct related to Gaetz. If the investigation does not clear him, it could provide grounds for expulsion.

One Republican lawmaker pointed to the ongoing Ethics Committee investigation into Gaetz, warning if he wasn’t cleared, he could get expelled by those who want him gone.

“We want him out,” the member said.

Additionally, Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich reported that House Republicans are preparing to take action against Gaetz, pending the outcome of the ethics report. An unnamed House Republican told Heinrich that Gaetz has become highly unpopular within the caucus.

Gaetz responded to these reports on X (formerly known as Twitter) but did not provide further details in his post.

The situation indicates significant tension within the Republican Party regarding Gaetz’s status, and the outcome of the Ethics Committee investigation will likely have a significant impact on his political future.
