Burt Young has left us on his heavenly journey. It’s a sad moment for all movie goers who loved the “Rocky” franchise. Burt’s death was confirmed by her daughter Anne Morea Steingieser in a statement relayed by the New York Times. Young died on October 8th, according to the statement.
“Paulie” as a character was loved by fans globally. The five-film run between 1976 and 1990 made him a staple of the franchise. The performance was so well executed to perfection by Young that it helped him win a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 1977 Academy Awards.

According to Outkick, no detail about the cause of his death has been reported as of last Wednesday. Young also appeared in movies such as “Back To School” and “Once Upon A Time In America.”

He also appeared on television in “M*A*S*H.” The performance left a legacy in television. Young had a memorable performance in “The Sopranos” as Bobby Baccalieri, Sr. He portrayed the character of a chain-smoking veteran hitman who cracked jokes at the Family boss. There were many characters played by Young and all of them have been memorable in their own right.
