According to Mediaite, Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, has sparked speculation about a potential presidential run after selling his majority stake in the team and announcing his departure from the show “Shark Tank.” Cuban revealed on the All the Smoke podcast that season 16 of “Shark Tank” would be his last. Subsequently, it was reported that he would be selling his majority stake in the Mavericks to Las Vegas Sands owner Miriam Adelson and her family for more than $3 billion.
Despite the sale, Cuban will reportedly retain operational control of the team, fueling speculation about his future plans. Cuban, who regularly appears on cable news networks to discuss various topics, has previously claimed that he has what it takes to be the President of the United States. However, he has expressed hesitations about putting his family through the chaos of a presidential campaign.
The recent developments, including the sale of the Mavericks and his departure from “Shark Tank,” have led to renewed speculation about Cuban’s potential presidential aspirations. Some in both the political and sports worlds have theorized that Cuban may be reconsidering his previous stance on a presidential run. Cuban has also mentioned his desire to move the Mavericks to a new arena in the middle of a resort and casino if gambling is legalized in Texas, and the sale to Adelson could be a strategic move in that direction.
A few months ago, Mark Cuban said he wouldn't run for president in 2024 because "my family would disown me."
Perhaps someone should check in with his family today? https://t.co/l6VkJU3gPW
