Trump Issues Cryptic Warning To Supreme Court Justices

Former President Donald Trump has addressed a pending Supreme Court case that will determine his eligibility to be on the presidential ballot in states seeking to ban him due to his alleged involvement in the January 6th insurrection. Last month, the Supreme Court of Colorado and Maine’s secretary of state ruled Trump ineligible for the presidency, citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which bars insurrectionists from holding federal office. Trump’s legal team has appealed these rulings to the U.S. Supreme Court, and the case was accepted on Friday.

Speaking at a rally in Sioux Center, Iowa, shortly after the court’s decision to hear the case, Trump addressed the matter, highlighting the perception among liberals that he has influence over the conservative-leaning Supreme Court. Many liberals, according to Trump, believe that the court, having three judges appointed by him, is under his control. He mentioned concerns that if the Supreme Court rules in his favor, it would be viewed negatively, potentially leading to protests at the justices’ houses.

Trump accused his critics of employing tactics akin to playing a referee, drawing parallels to the strategies used by Bobby Knight in sports. He emphasized the pressure these actions put on people to make decisions against their own judgment.

Expressing his hope for fair treatment in the case, Trump argued that an unfair outcome could have significant consequences for the country. Despite facing federal indictment over his attempts to overturn the 2020 election, with allegations of pressuring Republican officials in contested states, and state charges in Georgia for similar efforts, Trump is expected to secure the GOP nomination and potentially face President Joe Biden in a rematch in the November election.

The former president’s remarks reflect his concerns about the pending legal challenges and the potential impact on his political future, as well as broader implications for the U.S. political landscape.

And they’re saying, “Oh, Trump owns the Supreme Court, he owns it. He owns it. If they make a decision for him, it will be terrible. It’ll ruin their reputations. He owns the Supreme Court. He put on three judges. He owns the Supreme Court. If they rule in his favor, it will be horrible for them. And we’ll protest at their houses. And we’ll do all of the things that you see.”

And that puts pressure on people to do the wrong thing. What they’re doing is no different than Bobby Knight. They’re playing the ref. I watched that, I said, “Man, they’re really good. They’re really good at it.”

And I just hope we get fair treatment. Uh, because if we don’t, our country’s in big, big trouble. Does everybody understand what I’m saying? I think so, because they’ll cover that completely differently. They’ll cover that in a much different manner. But I’m just saying it’s a very unfair situation that takes place.
