Joe Biden Drops ‘Plea Deal’ Bombshell After Hunter…

President Biden attributed his son Hunter’s recent conviction on federal gun charges to political motivations, suggesting that Hunter would have received a more lenient plea deal if it weren’t for the upcoming election cycle. According to Politico, Biden remarked to a confidant that the plea deal fell through due to his own re-election bid, drawing parallels to former President Trump’s accusations of election interference in his legal proceedings.

While commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day in France last week, Biden reportedly kept updated on Hunter’s trial through family members. Upon learning of Hunter’s guilty verdict, Biden promptly returned to Delaware and publicly embraced his son.

Hunter Biden, aged 54, faces a potential 25-year prison sentence for lying about his drug addiction to obtain a firearm in 2018. Initially, a probation-only plea deal for tax crimes was negotiated, contingent on certain conditions like remaining drug-free. However, complications arose during a hearing overseen by US District Judge Maryellen Noreika, leading to separate charges for tax evasion and firearm offenses.

Despite the verdict, Biden expressed pride in Hunter’s recovery from addiction and pledged support for his son’s potential appeal. He reaffirmed his commitment to respecting the judicial process while acknowledging Hunter’s decision-making regarding an appeal.
