Triple H Replaces Top Name On WWE SmackDown

WWE has seen numerous changes over the years, and the latest shift involves a significant promotion within the creative team for Friday Night SmackDown. According to a report by Fightful Select, John Swikata has been promoted to lead writer for WWE SmackDown, replacing Ryan Callahan, who has parted ways with the company. This change was confirmed by multiple sources within WWE.

Swikata, a longtime WWE creative writer, has largely remained out of the public eye, with little known about his career or personal background. His only notable public mention prior to this promotion was a 2014 tweet from Road Dogg. Despite his low profile, Swikata has been with WWE for several years and has now been entrusted with leading the creative direction of SmackDown.

A source within WWE noted that Swikata has already begun to make a noticeable impact, with his influence evident in the direction of the June 21st edition of Friday Night SmackDown. This particular episode was highlighted as one of the most significant in recent memory, drawing comparisons to the grandeur of WrestleMania 40. The episode’s success has been attributed, in part, to Swikata’s fresh creative vision.
