Donald Trump Jr. recently shared a screenshot on X/Twitter of President Joe Biden’s comments labeling former President Donald Trump “a genuine threat to this nation.” Trump Jr. suggested that this kind of rhetoric may have incited the shooting at a rally on Saturday.
In his post, Trump Jr. pointed out two statements from Biden made within the last three weeks. On June 28, Biden stated, “Donald Trump is a genuine threat to this nation. He’s a threat to our freedom. He’s a threat to our democracy. He’s literally a threat to everything America stands for.” On July 5, Biden added, “Justice Sotomayor warned us in her dissent that, based on the majority decision, Trump could take out his opponents, take bribes, and lead a coup while president—and be immune to being held accountable. He really could become the dictator that he promised to be on day one.”
Trump Jr. criticized these remarks, claiming, “Don’t tell me they didn’t know exactly what they were doing with this crap. Calling my dad a ‘dictator’ and a ‘threat to Democracy’ wasn’t some one-off comment. It has been the MAIN MESSAGE of the Biden-Kamala campaign and Democrats across the country!!!”
Notably, Trump Jr. has also called Biden a “threat to Democracy.” On May 31, he tweeted, “No one is a bigger threat to Democracy in America than Joe Biden.”
Trump Jr. also recently re-shared a call from Elon Musk advocating for the execution of anyone opposing a new bill aimed at preventing non-citizens from voting in U.S. elections.
