Trump Announces Legendary Fox Host Died

Donald Trump has announced the death of former Fox and CNN host Lou Dobbs. Trump posted, “The Great Lou Dobbs has just passed away — A friend, and truly incredible Journalist, Reporter, and Talent. He understood the World, and what was “happening,” better than others. Lou was unique in so many ways, and loved our Country. Our warmest condolences to his wonderful wife, Debi, and family. He will be greatly missed!”

Former President Donald Trump spoke with ABC News as the Republican National Convention began, just days after surviving an assassination attempt. In a phone conversation with ABC’s Jonathan Karl, Trump detailed his state of mind following the incident in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a bullet struck his ear during a rally on Saturday. Trump noted that the experience had an “impact” on him when asked if he had “changed” since the event.

Trump also discussed a call he received from President Joe Biden after the shooting. The call had been described in the press as “short and respectful.” Both Biden and Trump provided more insights into their conversation during recent interviews. Trump told Karl that the call was “very nice,” adding that Biden “couldn’t have been nicer.”

In an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt on Monday, Biden shared his perspective on the exchange. He expressed his concern for Trump’s well-being and wanted to ensure Trump was truly okay. Biden mentioned that Trump sounded good and reassured him that he was fine. Trump thanked Biden for the call, and Biden conveyed that both he and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden were keeping Trump and his family in their prayers, hoping they were coping well with the aftermath of the incident.
