In a recent briefing, it was revealed that Thomas Crooks, the suspect in the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, posted a cryptic message on the gaming platform Steam: “July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds.” This message came just before the shooting on July 13 at a Trump rally.
Investigators discovered that Crooks had searched for terms related to Trump, Biden, the Democratic National Convention, and the July 13 Trump rally on his laptop. Despite these searches, no clear ideological motive has been found, and interviews have not uncovered any discussions about politics from Crooks.
Crooks’ investigation also revealed two cell phones: one was recovered from the crime scene along with a remote transmitter (potentially a detonator), and the second was found at his home. This secondary phone contained only 27 contacts, and the FBI is in the process of interviewing these individuals to gain further insights into Crooks’ activities and motives.
