Ivanka Trump celebrated her daughter Arabella’s 13th birthday with a Taylor Swift-inspired cake, drawing some attention due to its lyrical theme. On July 17, just four days after her father, former President Donald Trump, survived an assassination attempt, Ivanka shared a series of heartfelt birthday photos on Instagram.
In her post, Ivanka described Arabella as an “incredible daughter,” noting how much she cherishes their moments together, from horseback riding adventures to Brazilian jiu-jitsu practice. She expressed deep admiration and love, writing, “Arabella, you inspire and amaze me every day. You are a remarkable young woman and my heart overflows with love for you. Happy Birthday!”
Among the birthday photos was a standout Taylor Swift-themed cake—a white, heart-shaped confection decorated with lyrics from Swift’s 1989 hit “Blank Space.” The cake featured the line “Boys only want love if it’s torture” across the top. One image showed Arabella smiling proudly with the cake, while another captured the moment it was cut, revealing a vibrant red jam filling.
The choice of cake lyrics raised eyebrows for a couple of reasons. Some fans noted the coincidental timing with the shooting incident involving her father, while others were intrigued by the choice of Swift’s lyrics, given Swift’s outspoken criticism of Donald Trump. In 2020, Swift had condemned Trump for his presidency’s stance on issues like white supremacy and racism, and publicly expressed her opposition on social media.
Despite Swift’s political disagreements with Trump, there is a personal connection between Ivanka and Swift through Karlie Kloss, Swift’s former best friend. Kloss is married to Joshua Kushner, who is Jared Kushner’s brother, making Ivanka and Kloss sisters-in-law.
