Earlier this year, Jay Briscoe, the brother of AEW wrestler Mark Briscoe, passed away. Mark and Jay were known as the Briscoe Brothers during their time in Ring of Honor and won several championships, including a record-breaking 13-time ROH World Tag Team Championship.
Recently, the WWE On FOX social media handle posted a tweet that was deemed offensive by Mark Briscoe. A recent post by WWE On FOX made a post where they shared a picture of Bobby Lashley with Street Profits. They captioned the picture, “DEM BOYZ!” which was the catchphrase that the Briscoe Brothers used for themselves.
In response, Briscoe wrote while tagging Triple H, “For real?? This sh*t is hilarious. Triple H, whoever runs this twitter should probably be fired for lack of knowledge. Or they need the taste slapped out of their mouth for lack of reverence.”
The Tweet started to get a lot of attention from the fans on social media. Eventually, Mark Briscoe tagged Triple H yet again. In the follow-up tweet, Briscoe apologized for his earlier Tweet and said he misses his brother and got carried away in feelings. He wrote:
“Oh yea, thatsss why I quit posting on Twitter lol. Just logged back on…woww. Some of y’all are wild lol. I just miss my brother, that’s all, and I got a little in my feelings when I seen the Fox post. @tripleh, you ain’t gotta fire nobody, times is tough. Love y’all..take it light people #DemBoysForever.”
