Alexa Bliss has found herself at the center of a legal dispute involving WWE, as Dana Wiley, an individual with a history of litigation against the wrestling promotion, has filed a lawsuit against WWE, alleging breach of contract and failure to reimburse a $5,500 down payment for a meet-up with Bliss. The suit claims that the meet-up with the former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion was arranged via email correspondence and was supposed to take place on June 30.
In addition to the allegations related to the meet-up, the handwritten lawsuit contends that WWE’s Executive Chairman, Vince McMahon, breached an agreement with Wiley. According to the agreement, Wiley was to assume a role as a WWE employee with a monthly salary of $70,000. As a result, Wiley is seeking a total of $6 million in compensation, which includes damages for the breach of contract and reimbursement for all legal expenses.
It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Dana Wiley has taken legal action against WWE. In the past, Wiley has sued Vince McMahon, members of the wrestling group D-Generation X, and the NWO (New World Order). He claimed to have signed a fair use contract for the trademarks associated with these groups, which McMahon and others allegedly did not acknowledge. The lawsuit, which Wiley stated he signed in 1995, was eventually dismissed.
While Alexa Bliss herself is not directly involved in the lawsuit, the legal action serves as a reminder of the complex legal landscape that professional wrestling entities like WWE can navigate, involving various contractual and intellectual property issues.
