Bebe Rexha In Trouble After Using Drugs With Snoop Dogg

The popular singer-songwriter, Bebe Rexha, has found a unique way to celebrate 4/20 with none other than the legendary rapper and well-known marijuana connoisseur, Snoop Dogg. The two artists released a new single together called “Satellite” on Thursday, along with an animated music video that takes them on a wild adventure in outer space. The video is complete with spaceships shaped like joints and marijuana leaves.

In the track’s chorus, Rexha sings, “Last night I got higher than a satellite / I took a one-way ticket / It’s a one-man mission to paradise,” showcasing her love for the plant. The video, inspired by the popular cartoon The Jetsons, starts with real-life Rexha and Snoop, who is seen smoking a joint, being sent into the space voyage by him.

According to Rexha, marijuana played a major role in both the song and video’s creative process. The singer explains that she initially sent the song to Snoop through Instagram, and he loved it. The rapper wasted no time and sent the song back with his verse the next morning. Rexha was thrilled with the collaboration, and filming the music video’s intro was even more exciting for her.

Working with Snoop is a dream,” Rexha tells PEOPLE, explaining that she initially sent “Satellite” to the Doggystyle rapper through Instagram. “He called me at 7:00 the next morning with a big blunt in his hand being like, ‘Yo, check your email. You have an email.'”

He’s like, ‘You have to try my Death Row Joints,’ and I was like, ‘Right now, on the video set? I’m going to look high on the video.’ He said, ‘Just try it,’ and I was like, ‘Okay,'” she says. “I took a hit of it, and I got so high with Snoop Dogg. But who could say they got high with Snoop Dogg? That’s like a lifetime thing.”

Snoop arrived on set with his infamous Death Row Joints, which Rexha couldn’t resist trying. Even though she was apprehensive about smoking on camera, Snoop’s insistence convinced her. She took a hit and found herself getting high with the rapper, an experience she describes as a “lifetime thing.” Rexha shared a clip of herself smoking with Snoop on Instagram last week to tease the collaboration, and most of her fans were excited about it, except for one: her dad.

She recalls that her dad called her and questioned her for smoking on the internet. However, Rexha was quick to defend herself and remind him that if she were to smoke with anyone, it had to be Snoop Dogg. Working with Snoop has been a dream for Rexha, and the collaboration is undoubtedly a celebration of their mutual love for marijuana and music.

My dad called me and was like, ‘What are you doing? Why are you smoking on the internet? Are you crazy?'” she recalls. “I was like, ‘Dad, it’s Snoop Dogg. If you smoke with anybody, it has to be Snoop Dogg.”

I just try to write great songs, honestly, and then getting Dolly Parton and Snoop Dogg… It’s very reassuring to know that these icons are willing and excited to get on the songs,” she says. “That’s a really cool moment for me.”
