Ben Affleck remained tight-lipped when questioned about his rumored make-out session with pop princess Britney Spears. According to Page Six, the actor was approached by a paparazzo while casually strolling in a Los Angeles neighborhood on Friday, Feb. 9.
The paparazzo asked Affleck about the alleged kiss, to which Affleck initially sported a smile. However, his expression quickly turned serious as he ignored the question and headed straight to his car, driving away without addressing the inquiry.
Affleck’s reaction came in response to Spears’ since-deleted Instagram post, where she claimed to have “made out with Ben” years ago, admitting to completely forgetting the encounter. The post featured a black-and-white image of Spears, Affleck, and Diane Warren arm in arm.
The timing of the alleged kiss places it before Spears began dating Justin Timberlake, while Affleck was likely involved with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow.
In 2015, Paltrow revealed to radio host Howard Stern that Affleck “was not in a good place in his life to have a girlfriend” during the time of the alleged incident. Similarly, Spears stated in a Rolling Stone interview around the same time that she had “no feelings at all” for Timberlake and was solely focused on her career.
Despite the intrigue surrounding the alleged kiss, there’s no indication that Affleck intends to address the matter publicly. With Spears deleting the controversial Instagram post, it’s likely that the issue will fade away.
