Ben Affleck has said goodbye to his beard as a picture has emerged via US Magazine.
On Thursday, March 21, 51-year-old Affleck was observed walking around Los Angeles with a freshly shaven face. A little haircut completed the updated appearance. As photographers captured images of the actor strolling with his son Samuel, he was beaming. (Affleck and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner share a daughter, Seraphina, 15, and a son, Samuel, 12).
Even though Affleck had been sporting facial hair for years, this wasn’t the first occasion he’d picked up a pair of scissors. He famously shaved his scruff during an Oscars afterparty in 2013 after his film Argo won Best Picture. He sported the no-hair look throughout 2015.
The makeover took place at Craig’s, and Garner, now 51, supplied the clippers, an insider exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. “He did it himself at the restaurant. The whole family was tired of the beard!” the source added. (Affleck and Garner were married from 2005 to 2018.)
Before the Thursday sighting, Affleck discreetly showed off his transformation at the Saturday, March 16, Los Angeles Lakers game at the Crypto.com Arena.
He wore a baseball cap for the occasion, which partially distracted from the hair change. He attended the game with Samuel and wife Jennifer Lopez. (The pair wed in July 2022 after rekindling their romance.
The couple was previously engaged from 2002 to 2004 but called off the wedding due to excessive media attention. Like Affleck, Lopez, now 54, welcomed children in a previous marriage. She shares twins Emme and Max, 15, with ex Marc Anthony.)
