Ben Affleck ‘Rejected’ By J-Lo In Hilarious Video

Popular actor Ben Affleck has yet again starred in a Dunkin’ commercial.

The spot aired during the 2024 Grammys and it poked fun at the actor’s appearance at last year’s Grammys. At the award show in 2023 with wife Jennifer Lopez, Affleck’s unamused facial expressions sparked a parade of “Sad Affleck” memes across social media. (Lopez has since laughed off the comments saying, “He is happy!”)

At the start of the ad, a news clip of Affleck and Lopez is on a television screen. The headline reads “Boredest Man in the World.” “Keep laughing,” he says in the clip while sipping on an iced Dunkin’ coffee. “He’s bored. No. Steady. Always watching. I can do that. How hard can it be?”

In the next scene, he answers a call, presumably from Lopez. “What’s going on baby? I had this crazy dream, you’re going to laugh,” he explains. “I had come up with like some beats. And then you were like, ‘Maybe you should put that on the record.’ I even had a persona like JLo or like BLo. That’s the bad version obviously.”

When he asks if she had any time to help today, he clearly gets rejected. “I understand,” he says, clutching a Dunkin’ donut box.

The next half of the commercial chronicles Affleck’s efforts to get his “beats” on the map and heard by music experts. His journey to become a “Popstar” (the title of the ad) includes a lot more downs than ups.

Charli D’Amelio, who has over 151 million followers on TikTok, knows a thing or two about capturing audiences through music and dancing. Affleck enlists her help in the commercial.

“Maybe you can show me how it looks like,” he says to her. She then does a nimble leg lift and dance. “Yeah I can do that,” Affleck hilariously quips. D’Amelio, who is also a Dunkin’ superfan, then gives him a concerned look, following his last question to her: “Who is TikTok?”

After his failed training session with D’Amelio, Affleck decides to hype himself up with some positive self-talk.

“They tell you you’re no good. You’re a goofy, middle-aged, clumsy white guy with no rhythm and you can’t sing on key. You’re not coordinated. That means I can’t be a popstar?” he exclaims. “Underestimate Boston? At your peril.”

Amid the motivational speech, Affleck is seen taking a bite out of a giant chocolate glazed donut with rainbow sprinkles. “This is me now,” he says, while wearing a chain with a matching donut around his neck. (His reference cheekily alludes to Lopez’s album titled “This Is Me…Now.”)

The commercial conclues on a cliff-hanger — “To Be Continued” it reads, leaving fans wondering.
