Biden Reveals Trump’s Racist White Remark

It has been noted that President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign recently blasted former President Donald Trump over closed-door remarks they interpreted as meaning that “Only white immigrants should be welcome in America” via Mediaite.

New York Times correspondent and CNN analyst Maggie Haberman has reported that former President Donald Trump laughed and joked at a private event Saturday about welcoming immigrants from “nice” countries — that are also predominantly White — like “Denmark, Switzerland,” and “Norway.”

It has come to light that the chunk was an apparent reference to the Oval Office “shithole countries” moment from 2018.

On Sunday night, the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign torched Trump over the remarks in a memo that concluded with a statement from campaign Spokesperson James Singer:

“Independence Day in Donald Trump’s America will apparently no longer be July 4 – what he and MAGA extremists celebrate every day is the violence that we saw on January 6 when rioters stormed the Capitol and tried to tear down everything our founders fought for nearly 250 years ago. He’s promised publicly he’ll be a dictator on his first day, and now privately muses about this November’s election being our country’s last. The Trump dictatorship celebrates political violence and demonizes Americans who aren’t from Trump’s ‘nice’ countries, while handing out massive tax breaks for billionaires who like him – are only in it for themselves. That’s the future Donald Trump wants for America – but Joe Biden will stop him this November.”

In the memo, Biden’s campaign describes what they find “most alarming” from the Times quotes, including the thinly-veiled racial subtext of Trump’s remarks:

Trump, who praises dictators and has said he would be one on “day one,” said 2024 would be the last election ever: “He ended his remarks with a grave assessment of America’s future that has characterized his campaigns for the presidency, but with a more apocalyptic tenor in 2024. ‘This could very well be the last election this country ever has,’ Mr. Trump said, using a line that has become standard at his rallies. ‘July 4 is not as important as this as far as I’m concerned.’”

Only white immigrants should be welcome in America: “‘Why can’t we allow people to come in from nice countries, I’m trying to be nice,’ Mr. Trump said at the dinner, to chuckles from the crowd. ‘Nice countries, you know like Denmark, Switzerland? Do we have any people coming in from Denmark? How about Switzerland? How about Norway?’”

Attacking Latin American immigrants: “At the dinner, Mr. Trump also lamented the surge of migrants, particularly from Latin America, saying that gang members ‘make the Hell’s Angels look like extremely nice people.’ ‘They’ve been shipped in, brought in, deposited in our country, and they’re with us tonight,”’ Mr. Trump said. ‘In fact, I don’t think they’re on this island, but I know they’re on that island right there. That’s West Palm,’ Mr. Trump said, gesturing across the water, according to the attendee. ‘Congratulations over there. But they’ll be here. Eventually, they’ll be here.’”

Crooked cronyism, letting his billionaire backers ask what tax breaks he could give them: “He highlighted the tax cuts under his administration and asked attendees about whether they had a preference for that measure or his regulations that allowed them to take advantage of specific write-offs, according to the attendee. ‘The most successful people in the whole country are in this room,’ Mr. Trump said.”

Trump’s campaign “did not address” the quotes when Haberman contacted them for the story.
