Meanwhile, it has been noted by Kurt Angle that he suspected that somebody would be thrown off the Hell in a Cell structure at Armageddon 2000 from the moment the match was announced.
On a recent edition of his “Kurt Angle Show” podcast, the Olympian recalled his sole appearance in Hell in a Cell and Rikishi being thrown off the structure. He said,
“You knew that something was going to come, they just didn’t tell me until about two or three weeks before the event.
“I remember when Mick Foley got thrown off of it a few years earlier, and I knew that we were gonna have to do something as crazy as that and I didn’t want to be a part of it!
“They said ‘Who wants to do the crazy stunt?’ And I didn’t raise my hand. I believe Rikishi raised [his] hand and Triple H raised his hand.”
Rikishi was thrown off the Cell by The Undertaker in the most memorable part of the match. Angle won the match to retain his WWF Championship.
