WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross was largely involved in hiring new wrestlers when he was the head of talent relations. His role gave him a lot of authority in order to sign more talents. This includes Chris Jericho.
On Grilling JR, Jim Ross revealed how much he had to persuade the higher-ups in WWE in order to get them to sign Chris Jericho. Jericho took to Twitter and commented on this fact, saying that had Jim Ross not helped, Jerich would not be working in WWE.
He also revealed that Jim Ross one of his biggest defenders.
Well @JRsBBQ was always a defender of mine. He was pretty much single handedly responsible for getting me signed to @wwe.
Jericho and Jim Ross are now working together in AEW and it is unlikely they will ever return to WWE.
