Did John Cena & Brock Lesnar Quit WWE?

Brock Lesnar was given a pretty good schedule by WWE at this moment. He has an extremely minimal schedule as a wrestler; this year, he wrestled against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. He has since stepped away from the ring, but he is prepared to come back.

The next WWE Royal Rumble will take place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday, January 27, 2024. This is the second time the Royal Rumble has been hosted at this location; the first one was in 2021. It’s worth noting that live fan attendance for a Royal Rumble will be held for the first time since the pandemic interrupted proceedings the year before.

Dave Meltzer brought up Brock Lesnar during Wrestling Observer Radio. It was said that he will not be back until the Royal Rumble event next year. He isn’t advertised for the event, but Meltzer said Lesnar will be there.

“Lesnar is the one I was told who is not back until the Royal Rumble.”

Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer also spoke about John Cena’s last return to the ring. It took a lot out of Cena, even though he didn’t wrestle very often at all. That being said, he needed surgeries on both of his elbows when everything was said and done.

“He might do a comeback next year, but now that the strike’s over, the only reason he’s back is because of the strike. He fulfilled his commitments and everything. He’s having surgery on both elbows, so you know, that’s you know, he didn’t do a lot. He really didn’t wrestle a lot, but he still ended up with two surgeries, so that says that maybe he won’t do. It’s not like he was doing anything crazy in the ring again. I would expect him to do a WrestleMania match or something like that, and maybe sporadic TVs, but not a whole hell of a lot.”
