Tanika Ray, a TV host and former backup singer for Sean “Diddy” Combs, revealed that she had a distressing encounter with the rapper that led her to steer clear of him.
Ray shared on social media that she made a conscious effort to “avoid him at all costs,” acknowledging a sense of unease around him. She recounted how she danced for him and maintained her distance during interactions, a precaution she took based on her instincts. Ray’s statement comes amid allegations against Diddy, including accusations of running a sex trafficking operation and installing hidden cameras in his home.
I just knew to avoid him at all costs … Yes, I danced for him and kept my space. I interviewed him for his projects and kept my space. Nothing that is happening is surprising.”
As federal agents searched Diddy’s properties and made arrests related to the case, Ray chose to share her own experiences, albeit vaguely, citing a “horrific” event involving Diddy. She expressed reluctance to disclose further details, stating that only a few people know about it and she may never publicly discuss it due to its traumatizing nature.
“Oh yeah, you know we all have stories … Seriously, we all have stories,” she said in a video posted to social media. “Mine is horrific and only five people know it, and I probably will never tell it. But since then, I’ve been like, ‘Yup.’”
Ray emphasized the importance of prioritizing women’s safety and well-being, highlighting the detrimental effects of revisiting traumatic experiences. She referenced Cassie, Diddy’s former protege and ex-girlfriend, who filed a lawsuit against him for sexual abuse and rape, which was settled shortly after it was filed.
