Brendan Paul, a former college basketball player who is alleged to have acted as Diddy’s “drug mule,” has entered a plea of not guilty in a cocaine possession case. This development follows his arrest at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport on March 25, 2024, when he was found carrying cocaine and marijuana-laced candy. At the time, Paul was with Diddy, and they were stopped by federal agents during a raid conducted by the Department of Homeland Security as part of an investigation into alleged sex trafficking.
Paul’s attorney, Brian Bieber, entered the not-guilty plea on his behalf during the arraignment. Initially facing two charges, the possession of a controlled substance charge was dropped, leaving only the cocaine possession charge. Following his arrest, Paul was booked into jail but was released on bond the following day.
Brendan Paul’s connection to Diddy extends back to 2022, after his time playing for the Syracuse men’s basketball team and earning a business degree from another college in West Virginia. He allegedly served as Diddy’s drug and gun carrier. In addition, Paul was named in a sexual assault lawsuit filed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, providing details on Paul’s role with the Bad Boy founder.
Diddy’s reaction to the raids and Paul’s arrest was captured in a viral video showing him pacing at the airport while his homes in Los Angeles and Miami were being searched. Diddy’s lawyer, Aaron Dyer, criticized the “military-level” force used during the raid, suggesting it was excessive and unjustified.
“There was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences,” Dyer stated. He emphasized that the authorities’ conduct, particularly their treatment of Diddy’s children and employees, was inappropriate. Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Diddy’s legal team continues to assert his innocence.
