Former WWE star Ashley Massaro showcased different energy back in the day and fans loved her. However, she passed away.
Amazon’s Audible has unveiled an investigative podcast centered on Ashley Massaro and her allegations against WWE. These allegations were in context to WWE’s purported request for Massaro to keep quiet about a sexual assault incident in 2007, which resurfaced following her passing in 2019.
WWE denied the accusations and later issued a statement claiming that Massaro had attempted to reconcile with the company regarding the lawsuit before her death.
Journalist Isobel Thompson hosts the podcast, titled “Ashley vs WWE: The Story of Wrestler Ashley Massaro,” with a duration of three hours and forty-one minutes. It is available for purchase at $7.95.

“Professional wrestler Ashley Massaro died by suicide in 2019. Ashley vs WWE follows events leading up to her death and examines allegations of abuse while she was wrestling for WWE. As journalist Isobel Thompson delves into Ashley’s story, she investigates whether her allegations are just the tip of the iceberg. This story takes Isobel from the UK, to Ashley’s home of Long Island, and into the world of WWE wrestling in the early 2000s – where the power, influence and misogyny of the real world played out through the characters in the ring.”
Meanwhile, in the affidavit written in Massaro’s own words, she detailed a trip to the Middle East on a WWE mission to support the troops. Massaro said she was drugged and raped by a member of the US Military during that trip and was later told by Vince McMahon that she should never speak of this. WWE allegedly didn’t want to ruin the relationship between the company and the military.
WWE later issued a response on the matter in 2019 when this story started gaining attention after Ashley Massaro’s tragic passing. The company was saddened to hear about her passing, but they also made it clear that Vince McMahon and WWE management was never informed of such an incident.
WWE later went on to issue a response on the matter in 2019 when this story started gaining steam after Ashley Massaro’s tragic passing. The company was saddened to hear about her passing, but they also made it clear that Vince McMahon and WWE management was never informed of such an incident.
“WWE is saddened by the death of Ashley Massaro, and we reiterate our condolences to her family. However, we regret that her attorney Konstantine Kyros, who filed multiple cases against WWE, lost all of them, and was sanctioned multiple times by the Court for repeated misconduct and false allegations, is using Ashley’s death to further his malicious campaign against WWE by releasing an affidavit that she submitted to the Court and later apologized to WWE for being involved with, so we wish to make certain things crystal clear.
At no time was Vince McMahon or the management of WWE ever informed by Ashley Massaro or anybody else that she had been sexually assaulted, drugged, raped or sodomized by a military doctor with a nurse standing guard while on a goodwill tour in 2007 to U.S. military bases in Kuwait. In fact, if she ever articulated such a claim to WWE, we would have reported it immediately to the Base Commander.
At no time was there ever a meeting with Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn, John Laurinaitis or other company executives in which she told them of such a claim and was instructed to keep it quiet.”
