Hunter Biden’s Lawyer Rips Judge After Ruling

The situation surrounding Hunter Biden’s tax charges has taken another turn as his attorney, Abbe Lowell, strongly criticized the federal judge’s decision not to dismiss the charges. U.S. District Judge Marc Scarsi rejected Hunter Biden’s request to toss the charges, prompting Lowell to assert that they will continue to fight against what they perceive as the “abnormal way” the Special Counsel David Weiss has handled the case.

Weiss accused Hunter Biden of participating in a four-year scheme to evade paying $1.4 million in taxes. Hunter’s lawyers argued that the charges were influenced by political pressure from Republicans and claimed that he had immunity under a previous plea deal, which ultimately fell apart.

“We strongly disagree with the Court’s decision and will continue to vigorously pursue Mr. Biden’s challenges to the abnormal way the Special Counsel handled this investigation and charged this case.”

Despite the setback, Lowell affirmed their determination to challenge the handling of the investigation and the charges brought against Hunter Biden. The indictment alleges that Hunter engaged in a scheme to avoid paying taxes from 2016 to 2019 and filed false tax returns, leading to charges of three felonies and six misdemeanors related to the owed taxes.

According to Weiss, Hunter spent lavishly on his lifestyle instead of paying his taxes, and he stopped paying his overdue taxes for tax year 2015 in 2018. Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
