A surfing icon who is often regarded as Tahitian royalty recently gave surfing lessons to Ivanka Trump at Kelly Slater Surf Ranch in Lemoore. Raimana Van Bastolaer, a renowned figure in the sport, taught Trump on August 17th. In a video shared from the session, Trump is seen riding a long wave for nearly a minute, with Van Bastolaer surfing alongside her.
Van Bastolaer, celebrated as one of surfing’s greatest ambassadors, now works at Surf Ranch, where he helps enthusiasts fall in love with the sport. Ivanka Trump expressed her gratitude on Instagram, praising the Surf Ranch team and Van Bastolaer:
“The perfect waves, incredible vibes, and unforgettable memories made this an adventure of a lifetime.”
On top of his time with Trump, Van Bastolaer also shared a video of himself assisting a young boy during a lesson at the ranch. When the boy fell off his board, Van Bastolaer quickly rescued him, pulling him onto his own board to ensure he stayed safe.
