Jake Paul Has Been Suspended From Boxing

Celebrity boxer Jake Paul and former UFC welterweight star Nate Diaz engaged in a 10 round boxing match at the DAZN pay-per-view event on August 5, 2023, in Dallas. The match concluded with Jake Paul winning by unanimous decision after dropping Nate Diaz during the fight.

According to MMA Junkie, Following their showdown in Texas, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has issued mandatory medical suspensions for both Jake Paul and Nate Diaz, each lasting for 31 days. This practice is a standard precaution in combat sports to ensure fighters have adequate time to recover from any potential injuries sustained during the bout.

The medical suspensions also extended to other fighters who participated in the event, including Amanda Serrano, Heather Hardy, Chris Avila, Jeremy Stephens, Ashton Sylve, William Silva, Shadasia Green, Olivia Curry, Alan Sanchez, Angel Beltran, Kevin Newman II, Quilisto Madera, Jose Aguayo, Noel Cavazos, Luciano Ramos, and Cee Jay Hamilton. The durations of their suspensions varied, ranging from 13 to 61 days.

It’s important to note that fighters often return to action sooner than the stated suspension duration once they receive medical clearance. The extended suspensions are typically a precautionary measure, and fighters can resume competing once they are deemed fit by medical professionals. Additionally, not all injuries may be immediately apparent during the post-fight examination, and some may surface during subsequent tests, leading to longer recovery periods.
