It has been noted that former President Donald Trump has ‘attacked’ with an ad, calling President Joe Biden and Democrats the “Party of Violence.” It comes just days after he gave a speech with “Bloodbath” in the title via Mediaite.
Trump rallies were never reservoirs of sunshine. However, political observers have been flagging an escalation of apocalyptic and violent language at the events, including dozens of headlines from journalists accusing him of echoing Nazi leaders like Adolf Hitler.
Notably, among the 88 criminal counts Trump’s faces are charges that relate to an actual violent insurrection that Trump continues to support by calling its perpetrators “hostages.”
However, Trump put out a characteristic attack ad on Truth Social Thursday night seeking to bounce criticism off of himself and onto his opponents. The spot features a couple of clips of Biden saying he’d take Trump “behind the gym.”
Those are followed by several years worth of quotes from other Democrats and non-Democrats— and Madonna? — making statements of varying degrees of provocativeness with an epic cinematic underscore:
JOE BIDEN: Press always ask me, don’t I wish I were debating him? No, I wish you were in high school. I could take him behind the gym. That’s what I wish.
I said no. I said if we were in high school, I’d take you behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.
NANCY PELOSI: I just don’t even know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country. Maybe there will be that.
SEC. HILARY CLINTON: You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about.
REP. MAXINE WATERS: If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station? You get up and you start a crowd and you push back on them and you. Man. I know guys.
REP. AYANNA PRESSLEY: You know there needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there is unrest in our lives.
NANCY PELOSI: Enemies of the state.
CHRIS CUOMO: Show me where it says the protests are supposed to be polite and peaceful.
NICOLLE WALLACE: Kristen Welker, how do you resist the temptation to run up and wring her neck?
ERIC HOLDER: They go low. We kick ’em.
RICK WILSON: They’re still going to have to go out and put a bullet in Donald Trump.
MADONNA: Yes. I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House.
SEN. CORY BOOKER: Please get up in the face of some Congress people.
JOE BIDEN: No place for political violence in America.
Madonna, Nicolle Wallace, Rick Wilson, Eric Holder, and Chris Cuomo are not elected officials.
