Over on the ever-popular Squared Circle subreddit, sports entertainment, professional wrestling and combat sports fans are all buzzing of the fact that noted Joe Rogan, UFC commentator and host of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast could very well be about to host a special edition of his popular podcast with CM Punk and journalist and editor of the Wrestling Observer Dave Meltzer. Joe Rogan just sent a ‘bold message’ to this big name.
While none of this is confirmed and at this current moment is pure speculation, fans are basing this on the fact that Rogan following both Meltzer, Punk and UFC veteran ‘Filthy’ Tom Lawler on social media. While everyone is presuming this is most likely wrestling related and very well could lead to a CM Punk appearance on the podcast, it should be noted that Dave Meltzer and CM Punk also have ties to the UFC.
While CM Punk infamously tried his hand at mixed martial arts this past decade, which resulted in a record of one win and one no contest, Dave Meltzer had been covering the UFC for decades as one Reddit user pointed out on the popular subreddit:
The user named sparrowmint said: “Meltzer was a credentialed journalist covering the UFC for a couple decades and used to be at every press conference, working for Yahoo Sports and later mmafighting.com, plus his own newsletter coverage. Rogan is well aware of who Meltzer is.”
Joe Rogan recently posted this ‘offensive’ Conor McGregor photo. While another user named ostinater put I could see Punk going on because he is a star with a history of fighting for the UFC so Joe is certainly aware of him and has had interactions with him at press conferences and stuff. I would be beyond shocked if he had Meltzer on, but if he did I’m sure they would have plenty to talk about as Meltzer has covered UFC since the first one.
It is certainly unclear whether or not this is at all related to the speculation that CM Punk could wind up in All Elite Wrestling or if this is just the fantasy wishes of the Reddit-verse.
