John Cena Insulted A-List Actor To His Face

Freddie Prinze Jr., the former WWE writer, shared a revealing story about his initial encounter with John Cena during his time working with the company. Prinze Jr. recounted the incident on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, describing how Cena initially seemed unwelcoming towards him when he first joined WWE’s creative team.

According to Prinze Jr., when he first extended his hand to greet Cena, the WWE superstar ignored the gesture entirely. However, shortly after, Cena circled back and introduced himself, albeit with a comment that seemed to express skepticism about Prinze Jr.’s presence in WWE. Cena reportedly remarked, “Oh, I guess they’ll just let anybody work here,” or something similar, indicating a reluctance or skepticism towards Prinze Jr. joining the company.

“When I got there he [John Cena] did not want me there at all. And I remember the first time I met him, I was super polite, put my hand out to shake his hand, he walked right past and didn’t even like, acknowledge me. And I think somebody said something because a few minutes later he came up and he goes, ‘Hey I’m John,’ and he put his hand out and I shook his hand and I go, ‘Hey, I’m Freddie. Nice to meet you,’ and he goes, ‘Oh, I guess they’ll just let anybody work here,’ or word to that effect. I’m not quoting the man.”

In the meantime, the specifics of Cena’s retirement tour are yet to be announced, but Cena explained why he will retire from in-ring competition in 2025.
