John Cena vs. Drew McIntyre WrestleMania Idea Revealed

On last week’s episode of the “Nitty Gritty Dirt Show” on, former WWE writer Vince Russo, pitched how he believes the WWE should have current WWE champion Drew McIntyre face future WWE Hall of Famer and leader of Cenation – John Cena. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Russo’s comments. John Cena was recently insulted by this WWE diva backstage

Russo: You know what the match is going to be at WrestleMania for [Drew] McIntyre? It’s going to be John Cena and I’m going to tell you why it’s going to be John Cena. The WWE knows that half of the WWE Universe looks at John Cena as a heel anyway – so McIntyre and John Cena can have a babyface match, Drew McIntyre can go over and still be the babyface.

In other news revolving John Cena, Cena recently praised the current WWE roster and product in a new interview with Forbes. He told the outlet the following. Credit to WrestlingInc for the transcription.

Cena: “What do I think of the WWE product right now? I love it,” Cena said. “I think it’s bold, it’s forcing people to take chances. Forbes did an article on me back in 2020 where I had said that I don’t believe that WWE will ever have a marquee star. And here we are, less than a year later, and I can blatantly say I was wrong.

Cena continued: “You wanna talk about being too close to the product? I was just too close. Having seen it, having lived it myself, I should have just realized that the company is in transition. It takes a long time—I would say it’s three-and-a-half years or more—to build a certain talent because I’ve walked in those shoes.” John Cena came at the wrong time in WWE says ex-WWE personality
