Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of mixed martial arts and the UFC’s most iconic names, where prior to his retirement here he was the longest-reigning UFC Lightweight Champion, having held the title from April 2018 to March 2021.
In a recently released video clip by ES News, former Ultimate Fighting Championship Flyweight Champion and Bantamweight Champion Henry Cejudo the two can be seen hanging out and discussing who should be Cejudo’s next opponent. Khabib recently sent this bold message to Tyson Fury.
During the video, Cejudo suggests fighting against someone like Alexander Volkanovski or Petr Yan with Khabib indicating at the end that ‘this is a message’ for UFC top-boss, Dana White. Credit to SportsKeeda for the below.
Khabib Nurmagomedov: “I think he needs someone good, like star, like, win and defend a couple times. He [Cejudo] can bring so much to the table but I don’t think someone has that in the bantamweight and flyweight divisions, who can bring so much like him to the table. When he goes to the cage, he is going to bring an Olympic gold medal, flyweight and bantamweight belt you know. What are they going to bring?”
Henry Cejudo: “You know what I would love? If it was up to me, Khabib, I’d love to fight for another belt, legacy, against Alexander Volkanovski. Or, money. Petr Yan, I don’t mind fighting Petr Yan in Russia, but they [need to] pay me money.”
Khabib Nurmagomedov: “This is a message for Dana (laughs).”
