AEW came into existence back in early 2019 and took the professional wrestling world by storm. Now with over a year under its belt, it has truly been an alternative to WWE according to fans. It has attained a loyal fanbase, but also has many critics.
Lance Storm recently shared his thoughts on AEW and it certainly caused quite a few fans to be offended. Storm has certainly seen many debates regarding AEW. He took to Twitter and came to the conclusion that All Elite Wrestling is like pineapple on a pizza. While some certainly love it, others simply do not.
I’ve concluded today that AEW is like pineapple on a pizza. Those who don’t like it actually get mad at people who do and try to convince them to stop enjoying something they like.
Some fans argued with his analogy, disagreeing with him. However, Storm made it clear he had no interest in arguing with wrestling fans who did not agree with him.
“Much like the pineapple debate, I have no interest in hearing your stance on my analogy either.”
Former WCW announcer Mark Madden said that AEW fans are not willing to hear any criticism about the promotion at all.
The opposite is true, too. A lot of AEW supporters go ballistic if you criticize even a small fraction of the product. Wrestling has become tribal, just like everything else.
