Mar-a-Lago has been a focal point for various events, from investigations to extravagant parties and opulent weddings. Among its notable matrimonial occasions, former US President Donald Trump famously exchanged vows with Melania Trump there in 2005. (His previous marriages were celebrated at different venues: Marla Maples at the Plaza Hotel and Ivana Trump at Marble Collegiate Church.) Fast forward to the present, and Jarod and Alexa Malnik recently held their rehearsal dinner at Mar-a-Lago.
During the rehearsal dinner, Donald Trump remarked, “This is a great couple. Nobody gets divorced ever when they get married at Mar-a-Lago. People, 20 years later, say it’s the greatest marriage ever,” as reported by Page Six.
Donald humorously asserts that marriages held at Mar-a-Lago are destined for happiness and longevity. Most recently, his daughter Tiffany Trump tied the knot with Michael Boulos, a Lebanese-American billionaire heir, at Mar-a-Lago on Nov 12, 2022. Similar to her father and stepmother, Tiffany and Boulos maintain a discreet relationship and appear to have a contented marriage, which Donald playfully attributes to the enchantment of their wedding venue.
Tiffany isn’t the only one of Donald’s children to exchange vows at Mar-a-Lago. Donald Trump Jr. married his ex-wife Vanessa Kay Haydon there, as did Eric Trump with his wife Lara Trump. However, not all marriages held at Mar-a-Lago endure, as evidenced by Donald Jr. and Vanessa Kay Haydon’s divorce.
Returning to Tiffany and Donald’s parallels, aside from both celebrating weddings at Mar-a-Lago, Donald escorted Tiffany down the aisle. Additionally, Tiffany paid tribute to her father’s marriage to Marla Maples by recreating the custom 7-foot-tall Sylvia Weinstock wedding cake they had at the Plaza, as reported by People.
