Despite recently appearing alongside her husband, Melania Trump reportedly has no intentions of joining him on the campaign trail for his current political endeavors.
The former First Lady, aged 53, has been noticeably absent from public engagements, largely due to the passing of her mother earlier this year. Although she stood beside her husband as he accepted awards and delivered a brief speech at his West Palm Beach golf club recently, sources close to the campaign suggest she may not participate in his rallies anytime soon.
While Melania is expected to have some role, the extent of her involvement remains uncertain. According to a source, she is selective about her engagements and will decide the level of her participation herself.
Speculation also surrounds Melania’s potential role at the Republican National Convention in August, although it’s presumed she will take part. However, insiders note that Melania is thoughtful and may alter her plans in the future.
Since her husband announced his reelection bid, Melania has only appeared publicly twice: once at the launch of his campaign in November 2022 and again alongside him during the Florida primaries.
When questioned about her return to campaigning, Melania merely smiled and hinted, “Stay tuned.”
According to Stephanie Grisham, Melania’s former chief of staff, Melania prefers a different approach from current First Lady Jill Biden, whom she perceives as constantly supporting and embarrassingly ‘propping up’ President Joe Biden.
Grisham also noted Melania’s contrast with Hillary Clinton’s style as First Lady, stating she is unlikely to adopt the “stand by your man” approach.
In an interview with Megyn Kelly, former President Trump described Melania as enigmatic and compared her to the reclusive Hollywood star Greta Garbo. He emphasized her self-confidence and calm demeanor, asserting that she doesn’t seek the limelight.
Trump expressed that Melania is doing well and praised her as a strong and composed individual.
Regarding their private moments, Trump described their dinners as ordinary and indicated that they share a harmonious relationship.
Melania has notably not accompanied Trump to his legal proceedings as he faces multiple legal challenges.
