Former President Donald Trump didn’t bring his wife and former First Lady Melania Trump for the first presidential debate and Kaitlan Collins feels it’s ‘damning.’
Trump brought an entourage to Atlanta where CNN is hosting a historic debate. It has been noted that Melania Trump’s former chief of staff told NBC News that she it would be surprising if the former first lady did not attend the debate.
Trump’s sons made some appearances at another de-facto campaign stop for Trump: the New York criminal trial where the former president was found guilty of falsifying business records concerning a hush money payment issued to porn star Stormy Daniels.
The candidates had a substantial group of supporters joining them in the spin room, where they speak with members of the press, before and after the debate. President Joe Biden’s campaign touted names including California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Trump’s niece Mary Trump.
Trump also has a number of surrogates, many of whom have been flagged as potential picks for his running mate.
